If you've been paying attention to some of our recent promotional photos, you may have noticed something unusual.
A giant blue dot.
Right in the middle of the band.
No, it's not modern art.
No, it's not a secret message.
And no, Jarvis didn't accidentally identify one of us as a traffic sign.
The answer is actually pretty simple.
At The Dead Air Saints, we're extremely careful about the privacy and approval process surrounding the people we work with.
Every photo, video, interview, and promotional asset goes through review before it gets released to the public. Sometimes that's a quick process. Sometimes life gets busy and someone hasn't had a chance to sign off on an image yet.
In this particular case, we needed a band photo for a Spotify promotion, but one of the musicians pictured hadn't had an opportunity to approve the final image.
So rather than delay the campaign, we did what any highly sophisticated, technologically advanced, world-class recording organization would do:
We covered them with a giant blue dot.
Problem solved.
The funny thing is that once we saw it, we kind of loved it.
What started as a temporary solution instantly became a conversation starter. People noticed it. People asked questions. And now it's become its own little piece of Dead Air Saints lore. #BlueDotMcKee
Behind every photo, recording session, video shoot, and release is a team of real people balancing careers, families, schedules, and creative projects. Respecting those people is more important than getting a perfect photo online five minutes sooner.
Eventually the blue dot will disappear.
Until then, we're enjoying the mystery.
And honestly?
It's probably getting more attention than the original photo ever would have.
Different Worlds. Same Signal.
